Princess Diana has been gone 20 decades, but in London, admirers can still find traces of her memory in royal palaces, through the four fabulous parks connecting them, in the city’s 2 greatest cathedrals, also in her favourite haunts.
And her sons, Princes William and Harry, have chosen to celebrate this anniversary of her passing with exhibits and a formal statue to be published near Kensington Palace.
This summer, the House of Windsor has mounted a display of Diana’s small desk and personal mementos in the Music Room of Buckingham Palace, which Will Be open for visits while the Queen is away, through October 1.
William and Harry decided things the Princess kept on the desk inside her apartment in Kensington Palace.
Kensington Palace, that Diana called KP, was her home during her marriage to Prince Charles and till her death. Londoners concentrated on this palace to express their grief. One English writer said that with the passing of the People’s Princess “that the English eventually learned to shout.” This summer, flowers in the Palace’s formal garden have been completely whitened, in Diana’s memory.
And inside, “Diana: Her Fashion Story,” has drawn huge crowds to the display of many of her best-known gowns.
There’s the ink-blue velvet gown she wore to the Reagan White House, in which she’s famously danced with John Travolta. And a gown worn at Versailles. In addition to all of the dresses, you will find her casual clothes, displayed with photographs, like the tweed outfit worn in Balmoral during her honeymoon. The exhibit remains open through February 2018.

The Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk is marked by enameled metal disks set to the paths, beginning on the front end of beautiful St. James’s Park, near Westminster Abbey, winding across its lake, past Buckingham Palace, through Green Park and then Hyde Park and throughout Kensington Park into the palace. In Westminster Abbey, stand at the foot of the main altar where all coronations are held and at which Diana’s coffin stood. In the Abbey’s daily evensong, open to the General Public, a guest sits right there as a boys’ choir’s voices fill the early space. And feet off is where Elton John sang “Candle in the Wind” during the funeral.
Nearby, you can tour the Royal Mews and see the glass coach that carried Diana to her wedding, and the open trainer that the newlyweds took from St. Paul’s back to Buckingham Palace the same one William and Kate chose for their wedding.
Diana Spencer came from an aristocratic family whose state home was at Althorp, 75 miles north of London. It’s the site of her tomb, chosen by her family so that it Wouldn’t be a tourist destination. However, the Spencer family’s ancestral 1756 London mansion, just behind St. James’s Palace and a stone’s throw away from Buckingham Palace, is available to tourists on Sundays. One of Spencer House’s glorious rooms are the famous shining golden Palm Room with tree-sized palm-shaped columns and palm fronds fanned across the ceiling with gold-leaf ornamentation.

He states Diana was so comfy that she would come to fulfill with a particular paparazzi photographer to discuss where she May Be appearing. Is Sticky Fingers restaurant, where a visitor could observe the booth Diana’s is called by them amid the Stones memorabilia, owned by Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman.
Diana also hung out from the tony Knightsbridge area.
She had been a big fan of bar and the restaurant on the floor of Harvey Nichols. And she at at San Lorenzo, an upscale Italian spot around the corner from Harrods.

When she was murdered Dodi’s father, Mohamed Al-Fayed owned Harrods. He constructed a shrine to them in the store’s lower level, which remains there today, though he no more would be the owner. It is tucked away at the foot of an escalator, together with pictures of Diana and Dodi, a lipstick-smudged wine glass and a very large bronze statue of these dancing, like a Bernini. The inscription at the base calls them “innocent victims” You can sign a book.
